DStar Repeater Installed at North Range Road
Thursday 24th July 2025 saw the DStar Repeater installed at North Range Road, it is currently under test with a dummy load connected, antenna install to follow. once this is live it will replace the VHF high power hot spot that has been running in Palmerston North for a number of years. http://dstar.nrr.zlwan.net

First Pair of VM Hosts Up
Today we brought two Proxmox hosts online with the intention of either having a second pair on another site or at least splitting this pair between two sites. These will be running our core services, nameservers, DNS resolvers, documentation wiki, network status etc.

North Range Road Router Upgrade
While we where on a club tour of our site at North Range Road we took the oppotunity to swap out the full small 5 port router at North Range Road and upgrade it to a 10 port model to make room for upcoming linking devices.

ZL-TRBO DMR Repeaters Linked
Both the Manawatu DMR repeater at North Range Road and Whanganui DMR repeater at Landguard Road have been moved to the ZL WAN allocated 44Net Public IP Space. Testing shows that both repeaters peer together and remain peered during a internet outage due to the redundant linking path’s between the sites.

After the due diligence by Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) on Monday 4th March we received a letter of authorization to use the 44.31.255.0/24 subnet allocated by ARDC.
